The second round of the IN SITU Social innovation Hub in Rijeka was launched on Wednesday, May 19th 2021. Croatian project partners, STEP RI and City of Rijeka, opened the call for applicants in April 2021. A couple of weeks later, 16 socially innovative ideas were selected to enter the IN SITU Social innovation Hub 6month support programme.
The IN SITU Social Innovation Hub in Rijeka is a 6-month support programme for unemployed people who have a socially beneficial and innovative idea, wishing to turn it into a sustainable and successful business or initiative.
All selected applicants can count on free coworking space with 24/7 access, individual business consulting, inspirational interviews, professional mentor support and workshops in civil society, entrepreneurial and business knowledge and skills. What is more, they also receive support in writing a business plan for local funding!
The IN SITU Social Innovation Hub in Rijeka will be organised fully online, via Zoom platform, allowing participants from all over Croatia to join and learn. However, contract signing with IN SITU Social Innovation Hub participants from Rijeka has been organised live, respecting all pandemic measures. Although divided into smaller groups, faces covered with masks, from a safe distance you could see and feel how enthusiastic participants were to meet their fellows.
A day later, on May 20th, the first workshop took place online and all participants got the chance to present themselves and their ideas, getting to know everyone in the programme.
STEP RI and City of Rijeka, through this programme will promote social innovation, inclusion and intergenerational learning in Croatia, while aiming at a better social and work inclusion of the unemployed.
