Hurray! The IN SITU Social innovation Hub in Rijeka was launched on Monday, November 9th 2020. Croatian project partners, STEP RI and City of Rijeka, opened the call for applicants on October 8th 2020. A couple of weeks later, 13 socially innovative ideas were selected to enter the IN SITU Social innovation Hub programme.
The IN SITU Social Innovation Hub in Rijeka is a 6-month support programme for unemployed people who have a socially beneficial and innovative idea, wishing to turn it into a sustainable and successful business or initiative.
All selected applicants can count on free coworking space with 24/7 access, individual business consulting, professional mentor support and workshops in entrepreneurial and business knowledge and skills.
The first workshops have been attended online by all participants and the first mentoring round is currently underway. The IN SITU Social Innovation Hub in Rijeka will be organised fully online, via Zoom platform, due to the current health situation. However, contract signing with all IN SITU Social Innovation Hub in Rijeka participants has been organised live, respecting all pandemic measures, with individual timeslots and a lot of questions for the IN SITU SIH manager and mentors. Although masks covered a lot of smiles, you could see that it was a very optimistic start and all involved parties are quite enthusiastic for the next steps.
STEP RI and City of Rijeka, through this programme will promote social innovation, inclusion and intergenerational learning in Croatia, while aiming at a better social and work inclusion of the unemployed.
